The meat industry has been eating at our planet's resources at a rapid rate for decades. I admit, I love meat, but I can't deny the fact that the production of meat is one of the world's largest waste of energy, water, food and land. While a full stop on meat production would both be impossible and unpleasant, there is a much more efficient alternative available we can use to slow the resource usage that is the meat industry, plant-based meat.
Unfortunately, the population majority would agree that "artificial meat" doesn't sound nearly as appetizing as a fresh off the grill burger. As a result, plant-based meats aren't as popular as they could be, and therefore can't make an impact. This problem lead me to try and convince the general public of the ever-growing quality of plant-based meats.
I hosted a cookout and invited the neighbors, preparing Beyond™ Burgers for my guests. After everyone filled their stomachs, I told them about their food and my goal. After informing them of the problem of resource usage and showing them the quality of the alternative, I convinced them to do their part by simply choosing an occasional plant burger over the real thing.
